Hoban Earns C-USA Setter of the Week Honors

HOUSTON -- Rice senior setter Kristina Hoban has been named the Conference USA setter of the week, the league office announced Monday.
Hoban recorded her second career triple-double with 10 kills, 59 assists and 11 digs in the Owls' 30-27, 30-26, 27-30, 28-30, 15-10 victory against SMU on Saturday. It was the third time this season for Hoban to post double-digit kills. She opened game two against the Mustangs by serving the Owls to seven-straight points, as Rice never trailed in the frame. Against Tulsa on Friday, she also recorded her eighth double-double of the season, sixth with an assists-digs combination, posting 34 assists and 10 digs.
Hoban is the second Owl to receive C-USA volleyball honors this season as senior Olaya Pazo has twice earned player of the week honors
Rice is 10-4 overall and 2-2 in C-USA action. The Owls continue their current home stand on Tuesday, hosting Sam Houston State at 7 pm at Autry Court in a non-conference match before hitting the road to play at UCF on Friday and Southern Miss on Sunday.
