Soccer: Just For Kicks! Meet The Rice Soccer Team

This season fans will have a chance to get to know a little more about the members of the Rice soccer team in Just For Kicks! Today's Owl is senior Angela Aaker.

Formerly known to Rice fans as Angela Furin, Angela Aaker may have a new last name after getting married over the summer but she is the same talented player. The midfielder from Kingwood co-leads the team with five goals this season. A year ago she won the team's Who's Who Award as the Owl who sparks the team when entering the game.

Did you know? Aaker came off the bench to score both of the Owls' game-winning goals last week against Saint Louis and North Texas. She has scored five times on just six shots on goal.

What's the best thing about playing college soccer: the opportunity to represent Rice

Other than soccer, the Rice team I like to watch play their sport: Catherine DuPont and the volleyball team!!

The person who got me interested in soccer: My older sister. I wanted to be just like her.

The most embarrassing soccer moment or thing that ever happened to me: way too embarrassing to tell but at least it didn?t scare my husband off

Few people know this about me, but.....: I was an iron woman last year for Beer-Bike and I crashed in the pit. It was ok though because I landed on top of an ambulance guy attending to a Hanszen biker.
