Soccer: Just For Kicks! Meet The Rice Soccer Team

This season fans will have a chance to get to know a little more about the members of the Rice soccer team in the feature Just For Kicks! Today's Owl is freshman midfielder Samantha Conn.

Samantha Conn is one of the program's outstanding young players in her first season of Division I soccer. The Clute native and former Brazoswood High School star has played in 18 of the team's 19 games and worked her way into 13 starting assigments.

Did you know? Conn scored the only goal of the game in the Owls' dramatic 1-0 road win at TCU (Oct. 10).

My pet peeve: not being clean

I chose to attend Rice because: It's close to home so my parents can come watch and these maybe be the funnest girls I've ever met in my life.

What I like most about the student life, or specifically life at Rice: the college system

What's the best thing about playing college soccer: getting to travel

One soccer player I would like to meet: David Beckham

Other than soccer, the Rice team I like to watch play their sport is: the: volleyball team

The person who got me interested in soccer: dad

The best soccer advice I ever had: If you play too slow, you're going to get hurt.
