Women's Track: Four Owls Post NCAA Provisional Marks

Brand finished first in the mile with a time of 4:58.72 -- one of six top-five finishes for the Owls. Sophomore Tanya Wright and junior Aimee Teteris finished 2-3 in the 800 meters with NCAA provisional times of 2:08.70 and 2:09.18, respectively. Keitha Moseley took fourth in the 60 hurdles at 8.71 and ninth in the high jump with a mark of 1.63 meters.
Jessica Sommerfeld posted an NCAA provisional mark with a throw of 14.95 meters in the shot put, and the distance medley squad also had a provisional time of 11:31.01 to finish second.
Freshman Magdelena Sandoval finished sixth in the 3,000 in 10:14.96, while Summer Bell was ninth in the 5,000 at 18:34.16. Konett Mays and LaKeisha Robertson both ran 7.91 in the 60 meters, while Kelechi Anderson posted 24.70 in the 200.
At the University of Houston/Runsport All-Comers Meet Saturday, Benecia Newhouse ran the 400 in 59.88, while Beth Hinshaw took fifth in the pole vault at 3.35 meters.
Next up for the Owls are the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Championships Feb. 23-24 in Reno, Nev.
