Roberson Advances to 1,500 Meters Final at NCAA Championships

DURHAM, N.C. (June 1) -- Rice senior Shaquandra Roberson advanced to the finals of the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 1 at Duke's Wade Wallace Stadium in Durham, N.C.
Roberson won her heat in a time of 4:20.46 to automatically qualify for Saturday's championship race.
Freshman long jumper Alice Falaiye placed 13th in the event with a leap of 20-2 1/2. The Owls' 4x400-meter relay team recorded a time of 3:39.50 in the preliminaries, but failed to qualify for the finals.
Roberson will run in the 800-meter championships Friday. The NCAA meet will continue through June 3.
