Rice sprinter Margaret Fox ran her way to a fifth-place over-all finish in the 400-meter dash. Fox, who was second among the collegians, crossed the line in 54.38 to post the Owls' best time in the quarter this season. For the men, Scott Byer edged out Houston's Karim Alston for the win in the 1,500 meters in a time of 1:51.44.
Also in action for Rice this weekend were Kari Vigerstol and Shaquandra Roberson who headed to the west coast to take part in Stanford's Cardinal Invitational.
