Women's Track & Field: Moseley Wins WAC Heptathlon Crown

EL PASO - Rice sophomore Keitha Moseley claimed the Owls' first conference
championship of the weekend as she won the heptathlon in the second day of
action at the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field
Championships in El Paso.
Moseley, who led the pack at the end of the first day of competition, won one of the final three events to take top honors with a point total of 4,549.
Moseley turned in the best long jump of the day with a mark of 17-11. She was third in the javelin with a throw of 56-7 and third in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in a personal-best time of 2:41.15.
Moseley earned 10 points for Rice to position the Owls in second place going into Friday's round of events. Fresno State is in the lead with 21 points as the Bulldogs had five competitors place in the heptathlon.
Action gets underway Friday at 2:30 pm with the hammer throw. The running events are scheduled to begin at 5 pm.
