Volleyball: Owls Fall 3-1 at Tulsa

Rice (14-11, 3-7) was outhit by the Golden Hurricane .197 to .131. Leading the Owls was junior Leigh Leman who knocked down 17 kills on 38 attempts with three errors (.368) and collected 15 digs for her 14th double-double on the year. Leman also put up a career high 23 assists for the Owls. Senior Karolina Zelinka contributed with 15 kills and 14 digs for her 16th double-double this fall. She needs just 38 digs to move into the top spot all-time at Rice.
Leading the charge for Tulsa (17-7, 3-7) was Kara Hidinger, who had a match-high 20 kills on 49 attempts with nine errors. The Owls and Golden Hurricane split the season series this year.
Rice will face cross-town rival Houston on Wednesday, November 1 at Hofheinz Pavilion, in a non-conference matchup, before traveling to El Paso next weekend to face UTEP. The Owls return to Autry Court on Tuesday, November 7 when they host Stephen F. Austin.
