Cross Country: Jura Selected WAC Runner of the Week

HOUSTON - Rice's John Jura was named the Western Athletic Conference men's runner of the week following his 10th-place finish out of 127 runners at the Texas A&M Invitational Saturday in College Station.
Jura, a senior from Springfield, Mo., covered the five-mile course in 26 minutes, 39 seconds. He has been the Owls' top finisher in every meet this season, taking first overall at the Rice Invitational and 21st at Lehigh.
The Owls will be back in action on Oct. 28 at the WAC Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
San Jose State senior Trevor Marca and TCU junior Eluid Njubi were also nominated.
Hawaii's Cheryl Smith took the women's honor by finishing first in her fourth-consecutive meet.
