Women’s Golf Heads into Final Round of Lady Paladin Invitational in 10th

Greenville, S.C. — Heading into the final round of the season-opening Lady Paladin Invitational, the Rice Women's Golf team sits in 10^th-place. The tournament is being played at Furman Golf Club.

The Owls, who have four golfers making their first collegiate start, carded a nine-over 297 sit at +24, nine strokes behind Georgia State.

Freshmen Jessica Jang and Ari Boone both shot a 74 to lead the Owls in a tie for 37^th-place at +5.

Redshirt freshmen Elisabeth Borsheim and Amelie Phung are in a 45^th-place tie at +7. Borsheim posted a 74, while Phung shot a 75.

Junior transfer Justine Bayle is +9, in a tie for 53^rd-place, after carding a 76.

Alabama leads the team competition at -10, three strokes in front of Xavier. High Point's Makayla Grubb leads the individual competition at -9, two strokes in front of Furman's Olivia Hasselbach.

NEXT UP

The second round begins tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Rice will tee off from holes 11-15 with student-athletes from Daytona State, Georgia State, and Samford.
