Rice Set for Home Opener Against Tarleton State

• The Owls opened the season 3-0, earning wins over Mississippi State, Alabama State and Georgia State.
• Three Owls earned American Conference weekly honors: Kaia Mateo was named Setter of the Week, Kellen Dorotik was named Offensive Player of the Week and Ashlyn Seay was named Freshman of the Week.
• Two Owls recorded 20 or more kills during opening weekend. Sydnee Peterson had 24 kills against South Alabama, while Seay recorded 21 kills against Mississippi State.
