HOUSTON – The Rice swim and dive team will compete in the First Chance Meet this weekend at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston.

The meet opens with one session at 3 p.m. Friday, followed by two sessions Saturday at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. TCU and host Houston will join Rice in the pool.

Last weekend, the Owls competed in their final dual meet of the season, falling to Houston 152-81. Rice recorded four first-place finishes and 14 podium finishes in the meet.

Entering the weekend, Ella Dyson and Ava Portello are the two Owls with NCAA cut times. Dyson posted a 16:22.18 in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the Phil Hansel Invitational in November. Portello qualified in the 500 freestyle at the same meet with a time of 4:41.79.

On the diving side, Antonina Harned and Morgan Robson have both qualified for NCAA Diving Zones in the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
