Dyson Places Fifth In Leg One of 2025 European Aquatics Open Water Cup

PROTARAS, Cypress - Rice junior swimmer Ella Dyson finished in fifth place with a time of 1:52:40.15 in the first leg of the 2025 European Aquatics Open Water Cup in Portaras, Cypress.
Dyson represented England as the top finisher from the country and was only 11 seconds behind the first place finisher from Poland.
The EA Open Water Cup is a five-leg competition which brings open water swimmers from several European countries together to compete for a chance to win an individual title. The second leg of the tournament will Setubal, Portugal, on June 22, before heading to Paris, France, on June 26 for the third leg.
The fourth and fifth legs will take place in Barcelona, Spain, and Ražanac, Croatia, in September to end the competition.
In July, the World Championships will be held in Singapore, with the open water component beginning on July 20, and the pool competitions beginning a week later.
Dyson is in the process to try and qualify for the British World Championships National Team that will compete in that World Championship in Singapore in July.
