
Nominations Open for the Rice Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025

Nomination period closes on April 18th
HOUSTON – The nomination period to select the members of the Rice Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025 is now underway.
Rice Athletics Hall of Fame Nomination Form
Fans, alumni, and members of the Rice community are encouraged to nominate outstanding former student-athletes, coaches, and administrators for consideration. The nomination period closes on April 18th, 2025, and the selected inductees will be honored during Hall of Fame Weekend in Fall 2025, coinciding with a Rice home football game.
Founded in 1970 by the "R" Association, the Rice Athletics Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have achieved athletic excellence while exemplifying the values of sportsmanship, character, and integrity. To date, more than 242 student-athletes, coaches, teams, and administrators have been enshrined for their contributions to Rice Athletics.
In addition to the Hall of Fame inductions, the Distinguished "R" Award and Honorary "R" Award will also be presented:

- Distinguished "R" Award – Recognizes former Rice Letterwinners who have led exemplary lives beyond their athletic careers.
- Honorary "R" Award – Awarded to long-standing supporters of Rice Athletics, regardless of whether they attended or competed for Rice.
To be eligible for induction, a candidate must:
- Exhibit sportsmanship, character, and integrity and have brought great distinction to Rice University.
- Have completed athletic eligibility at least five (5) years prior to selection OR be a current or former employee with service in Rice Athletics before selection.
- Olympic Team or National Team Member
- World Record Holder (Recognized National Federation Mark)
- American Record Holder (Recognized National Federation Mark)
- NCAA All-American (Team or Individual Sport)
- NCAA First Team All-Conference (In a recognized poll for Team Sports)
- Selection to a National Hall of Fame for their sport
- Conference Champion (Cross Country, Golf, or Tennis)

- Natalie Beazant ('15) – Women's Tennis
- Christopher Caldwell ('94) – Men's Track & Field
- James Casey ('11) – Football
- Lauren Hughes ('16) – Women's Soccer
- Anthony Rendon ('12) – Baseball
- Lennie Waite ('08) – Women's Track & Field
- Genny Volpe – Current Volleyball Coach
- Adam Peakes ('95) – Recipient of the Distinguished "R" Award
- Richard Stabell – Recipient of the Honorary "R" Award
