Men's Golf Duo in Top 10 at Border Olympics

Laredo, Texas — Senior Lukas Boandl and freshman Daniel Zou are in the top ten of the Border Olympics, played at Laredo Country Club.
Boandl is tied for fourth-place at -1, one stroke back of the leaders, while Zou is even in an eighth-place tie.
Boandl fired rounds of 72-69, his 14th round of par or better this year and the 30th of his career. It is also his ninth round in the 60's this season and the 12th of his career.
Zou posted a 74-68, the lowest round of the day. The 68 is his 12th round of par or better this year, and his sixth round in the 60's.
Sophomore Reggie Zhu carded rounds of 72-73 to sit at +3 in a tie for 13th-place. In the first round, Zhu recorded a hole-in-one on the par-three 14th hole. It was Rice's first hole-in-one since Michael Whitehead in the final round of the 2008 Conference USA Championship.
Senior Blake Benson is in 81st-place and redshirt sophomore Davis Byrd is tied for 82nd-place. Benson is +18 after rounds of 84-76, and Byrd +20 after rounds of 78-84.
The Owls are tied with Sacramento State at +1. The began the day shooting a 284, but closed with a three-under 277.
Utah Tech leads the team competition at -13, four strokes in front of Colorado and Colorado State. Valparaiso's Anthony Delisanti leads the individual tournament at -10, four strokes ahead of CSU's Jake Rodgers.
