
Owls in Second After Day 2 of Phill Hansel Invitational

HOUSTON — Rice closed the second day of the Phill Hansel Invitational in second place with a score of 802.
The Owls opened the session with a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay, posting a time of 1:39.72 behind the team of Abigail King, Siiri Einio, Lily Archibald and Avery Karacz.
Archibald followed with a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 53.11. Reese Cole placed second in the 400 individual medley in 4:13.86.
In the 200 freestyle, Ava Portello took third in 1:47.42. Cole later added a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.99.
Rice claimed another win in the 800 freestyle relay, as Cole, Bella Zhang, Karacz and Portello combined for a time of 7:16.88.
In diving, Antonina Harned finished second in the 3-meter event with a score of 326.70.
