
Mansfield Earns American Weekly Honors

IRVING – Rice volleyball libero Gaby Mansfield was named the American Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
The Owls are coming off another 2-0 weekend, extending their winning streak to 15 with wins over Wichita State and North Texas.
Mansfield has earned three weekly honors this season. She led the conference with 6.29 digs per set and totaled 44 on the weekend, including a high of 24 against North Texas. She ranks second in the conference with 4.59 digs per set.
Rice will open the American Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 1 seed and face No. 8 seed UTSA at 10 a.m. CT in Tampa.
