
Mateo and Mansfield Earn American Weekly Honors

IRVING – Rice setter Kaia Mateo and libero Gaby Mansfield were named to the American Conference weekly honors, the league announced Monday.
Rice is coming off a 2-0 weekend in which it clinched the American regular-season title and extended its winning streak to 13 matches.
Mateo earned the honor for the third consecutive week after leading the conference with 11.67 assists per set. She also recorded 17 digs over the weekend.
Mansfield, last week's Defensive Player of the Week, earned honorable mention after tallying 32 digs at 5.33 per set, ranking second in the conference.
The Owls will close the regular season this weekend, at Wichita State on Friday and North Texas on Sunday. Both matches will stream on ESPN+.
