• The Owls are riding a three-match win streak after sweeping both UAB and Memphis on the road. The run includes a nine-set streak, sparked by a reverse sweep of Tulsa.
• Kaia Mateo has been a rock for the Owls, stepping in over the last couple of weeks. She received honorable mention in this week's (Oct. 6) American Conference Week honors.
• Senior Taylor Preston earned American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 29 after 52 kills and a double-double, giving Rice back-to-back honors following senior Lademi Ogunlana's first weekly award (Sept. 22) for her strong showing at the Rice Invitational II.
• The Owls have five players ranked in the top 10 of the American Conference in categories such as hitting percentage, kills per set, assists, digs, and points.
