IRVING – The Rice soccer team continued to earn conference honors this week, with Camille Quarterman being named the AAC Freshman of the Week, while Leah Chancey was named AAC Honorable Mention, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
"Camille has been improving week by week. Her best is yet to come, and I am looking forward to her continued growth," said Rice head coach Brian Lee.
Quarterman was the focal point of Rice's offense this week, guiding the Owls to a 2-0 week with a 2-1 win over UAB and a 1-0 win at UTSA. Quarterman recorded an assist on all three of the Rice goals scored, two of which were game-winning goals.
Her three assists during AAC play are tied for the most in the league.
Chancey receives her third conference honor of the season after scoring in both of Rice's matches this week. Her game-winning goal at UTSA marked her seventh consecutive match scoring a goal, tying the program record.
Chancey is currently tied for the most goals in the AAC with eight, which also ranks her 15th in the NCAA. Her four game-winning goals this season lead the conference and ranks fourth in the NCAA.
