Kirchdorfer Low Amateur at 105th Kentucky Open Championship

HOUSTON — Former Rice golfer Jay Kirchdorfer earned Low Amateur honors at the 105th Kentucky Open Championship.
Kirchdorfer fired three straight rounds in the 60's to finish -15. He opened the tournament with a 67. He followed that with a 69. The Louisville, Ky., native closed the tournament by carding the second-best round of the day when he posted a 65.
Along with low amateur, Kirchdorfer tied for second in the tournament, three strokes behind Ashton Van Horne.
