
Ogunlana Named AVCA Southwest Region All-Region Honorable Mention

Ogunlana finished the season with a national top-30 hitting percentage of .395, also highest hitting percentage in the American. She was named AAC First Team All-Conference for the first time in her career, registering career-highs in kills (199), kills per set (2.24), total blocks (79), blocks per set (0.89), and total posts (257.5). The junior middle blocker posted Rice's first perfect hitting percentage in school history against East Carolina on October. 13, going 11-for-11 with no errors. She had the best game of her career in the season opener against Houston Christian, where she posted her first double-double with 15 kills and 10 blocks with a career-high 22.5 points scored. Ogunlana appeared on the conference weekly honors three times this season.
This marks the 18th-consective season that Rice has had a player honored by the AVCA.The mission of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development. The organization's membership includes over 9,000 members made up of collegiate, professional, high school, club, and youth volleyball coaches primarily in the United States. The AVCA represents women's volleyball, men's volleyball, and beach volleyball coaches, and work to increase exposure and recognition for the sport of volleyball as a whole.
