Freshman Savannah Skopal had another extraordinary week for Rice, leading the Owls to a team .307 hitting percentage (second in conference this week) and the most kills per set for a second-straight week, pacing the American with 17.00 K/S. Skopal also led the league in assists per set herself this week, sitting atop the stats with 12.83 assists per set. Skopal set up three Owls to finish top six in the league in hitting percentage, with those Owls all posting hitting percentages over .465. Skopal led the Owls to post 48 assists against UTSA, the most in the American this week. Her 40 assists against UTSA were one shy of the most in the league by an individual.
Lademi Ogunlana continued her breakout season for Rice with a superb week at the net, dishing out nine total blocks for 1.50 blocks per set, a top-five mark in the American this week. Ogunlana also finished in the top 10 in hitting percentage this week, posting a .467 pct in just six sets.
Kaitlyn Knobbe paced Rice with 27 kills in just six sets this week, leading the Owls to the most kills per set in the AAC for the second-consecutive week with 17.00 K/S. Knobbe's 4.50 kills per set was tied for second in the conference, just barely shy of the top mark of 4.57. Her 4.75 points per set and hitting percentage of .478 both registered top five in the conference, helping Rice finish second in the conference in team hitting percentage.
The Owls host three of the final four matches of the season, hosting Wichita State and UAB this week. Those matches are scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m., respectively.OWLS IN AAC WEEKLY HONORS
