IRVING, Texas - Rice junior swimmer Ella Dyson was named the American Athletic Conference's swimming athlete of the week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Dyson had a big impact on Rice's midseason meet in the Phill Hansel Invitational hosted by Houston, posting an individual win in the 1650 Free with a time of 16:20.86, earning a big victory for Rice on the final day of action, Dyson also finished in third in the A Final of the 500 Free with a time of 4:46.68. Both of the times she finished with this week lead the conference, poising Dyson as the top swimmer in both events at midseason.

The Rice swim and dive teams will return to action on December 15 for the CSCAA Open Water Championship from Miami, Florida.
