Jensen, McCardell Earn AAC Honorable Mentions

Katrina Jensen was the offensive spark for the Owls from the outside hitter position this week, leading Rice to a league-high 109 kills with 4.29 kills per set, and hitting percentage at .400 (minimum 10+ attempts), the highest of outside hitters in the AAC … Jensen was the leader of a Rice unit that posted 15.57 kills per set in just two games … She was also one of the top scoring outside hitters with her 4.29 K/S.
Fifth year libero Nia McCardell moved further up in the Rice record books, recording her 2,000th career dig on Sunday at Temple … McCardell now has 2,010 digs in her career with several games still to go … McCardell paces the Owls with 40 digs and 5.71 digs per set, helping the Owls earn two key victories in conference and post 17.43 digs per set … Rice ranked second in the AAC in digs this week in large part to McCardell's defense on the floor.
Rice is back in action on Friday night as the Owls host Charlotte to begin Homecoming Weekend festivites.
