Rice Golf Concludes First Round of Cabo Collegiate

Cabo, Mexico — The Rice golf team concluded the first round of the Cabo Collegiate on Sunday.
Sophomore Raghav Chugh leads the Owls in a tie for 34th-place at three-over par after carding a 74. Graduate student Jay Kirchdorfer is one stroke back at four-over par in a tie for 40th-place after posting a 75.
Freshman Lukas Boandl carded a six-over 77, sitting in a 56th-place tie. Senior Forrest Park is tied for 72nd-place at 10-over par, carding an 81 and junior Rodrigo Martin shot an 86 and is in 78th-place.
The Owls are in 14th-place at 23-over par. No. 1 Vanderbilt leads the team tournament at four-under par, four strokes in front of No. 44 Ole Miss. Arkansas' Mateo Fernandez De Oliveira leads the individual competition at four-under par, one stroke in front of Vanderbilt's Matthew Riedel.

The second round begins tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT. Rice will tee off with student-athletes from Abilene Christian, Tennessee and a group of individuals.
