Blue Gray Weekend Set for April 14-16th

Join the Rice Family for a weekend full of events and cheer on the Owls!
Rice University will host the annual Blue Gray Weekend from April 14-16th, which will feature several Rice Athletics events including a baseball series, men's and women's tennis matches, and the annual football spring game. Fans of all ages from around the neighborhood and Houston will be able to experience all the fun.
Rice Baseball will kick off the weekend by hosting Charlotte for a three-game series starting on Friday at 6:30 PM. On Saturday, the first pitch will be at 2:00 PM, and the first fans in attendance will enjoy a baseball pennant giveaway. The weekend will wrap up with the annual Los Buhos promotion recognizing Latin campus and community partners, and Pups in the Park, welcoming all furry friends at Reckling Park on the hill on Sunday at 1:00 PM while all kids can run the bases post game. Tickets to the weekend series against the 49ers are available online.
Saturday will feature Men's Tennis hosting SMU for the Turpin Cup for senior day with first serves set for Noon. Start the day off at the George R. Brown Tennis Center where there will be a free brew-tasting setup for those who are of age and additional food truck offerings.
On Saturday at 6:00 PM, Rice Football will compete in the annual Blue-Gray Spring Game at Rice Stadium. Owl Bash, an event featuring exciting in-game activities, will also take place on the west stadium main concourse. Admission to the Blue-Gray game is free and fans who redeem their tickets in advance will have a chance to win a custom Rice Football jersey.
Gates will open at 5:00 PM, and fans can enjoy entertainment with DJ Pocketjiggs spinning tracks over the stadium loudspeakers throughout the game, an interactive kids zone near gate 1, a personalized photo booth, and brews and bites samples from Yuengling and Rudy's. Additional food trucks will also be available for purchase, while free pizza will be provided to all Rice students in attendance as supplies last.
The official team shop will also be open offering the latest apparel items. Concurrently, exclusive team gear such as sideline shirts, shoes, sweat tops/pants, polos, and warm-ups will be available at the Rice Football spring surplus sale featuring discounts. All items will be set up on the west concourse vendor stands, and sales will start at 6:00 PM.
To cap off the weekend full of friends, family, and fun, the Rice Women's Tennis team hosts Prairie View A&M Sunday at Noon at the George R. Brown Tennis Center where their senior class will be recognized and pizza will be served to fans in attendance.
