HOUSTON — Rice golf coach Justin Emil announced on Wednesday the addition of Daniel Zou (The Woodlands, Texas) to a national letter of intent for the 2024-25 school year.
"Rice Owl Golf just leveled up," said Emil. "Daniel Zou is a fantastic young man full of passion, competitiveness and drive. He's an exceptional student and a perfect fit for our rising program. I have no doubt that this young man will be successful and help us reach our potential in the world of college golf."
Zou led The Woodlands High School to a runner-up finish in the UIL Golf state championship as a sophomore. He earned two victories on the American Junior Golf Association Tour (AJGA), at the CT Pan Junior Championship, where he finished seven-under par, as well as the Dominican Junior Open. He is fourth in the Class of 2024 for Texas in the Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings and 21st overall. He's also third in Teas and 24th overall for the AJGA Rolex Rankings.
