Blue Gray Weekend Set for April 15-17th

Join the Rice Family for a weekend full of events and cheer on the Owls!
The annual Blue Gray Weekend will be held April 15-17th on the Rice University campus. The weekend will be full of Rice Athletics events, including a baseball series, the football spring game, and a tennis match where fans of all ages from around the neighborhood and Houston will be able to experience all of the fun!
To kick things off, Rice Baseball will host UTSA for a three game series beginning Friday with first pitch set for 6:30PM. On Saturday, the Owls will host the fan favorite Vamos Búhos Game Day promotion where fans who purchase a Los Buhos shersey (shirt jersey) will be able to redeem up to two free tickets to the game! The first 200 students in attendance will also receive a free shersey. The series will wrap up on Sunday where your favorite furry friend is welcome at Reckling Park on the hill, kids can run the bases post game, and fans of all ages can participate in an Easter egg hunt inside the stadium at the start of the game. As a nod to the Blue Gray Weekend, fans wishing to attend all three games of the series can do so for just $15 (a 50% discount; limited availability).
On Saturday, Rice Football will host their annual Blue Gray Spring Game at Rice Stadium where local neighborhoods will come together for the inaugural Owl Bash! As part of the spring game festivities, Owl Bash will host several exciting in-game activities located on the west stadium main concourse.
Gates will open at 11:00AM for the noon football scrimmage. The Rice Family will be able to enjoy entertainment with DJ Chaney spinning tracks over the stadium loud-speakers, an interactive kids zone, photo-booth opportunities with the Rice cheer squad, and food/beverage samples by Karbach Brewing, Rudy's BBQ breakfast tacos, and additional tasty items for purchase ($) from Kona Ice and Fuddruckers.
Fans will also be able to browse the latest apparel items at the official team shop and snag some of their favorite team sideline shirts, shoes, sweat tops/pants, polos, and warm ups that the team and coaches wear at the Rice Football spring surplus sale featuring significant discounts per item. All items will be set up on the west concourse vendor stand. Sales will start at noon with pricing to ranging from $15-$40.
Admission to the Blue-Gray game is free with the redemption of complimentary tickets online in advance of the game.
To cap off the weekend full of friends, family, and fun, the Rice Men's Tennis team will host Incarnate Word at the George R. Brown Tennis Center at Noon on Sunday where the team will recognize their senior class on the final home match of the year and admission is free.
