SETTING THE SCENE
The No. 22 ranked Owls head east on Friday for a showdown at UAB at 7 p.m. CUSAtv from Bartow Arena.

Then on Sunday, Rice returns home to face Charlotte at 1 p.m. as it looks to stay undefeated all-time against the 49ers.

RICE NOTES

The Owls stayed still in the latest AVCA Top-25 Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 22. Rice moved up a spot in the latest NCAA RPI rankings, coming in at No. 10, its second highest ranking in history.
Rice fifth-year middle blocker Anota Adekunle and fifth-year setter Carly Graham were honored by Conference USA as the Offensive Player and Setter of the Week, respectively. Adekunle posted 17 kills and hit .483 while adding six digs and five blocks in Rice's comeback victory at UTEP. Graham totaled 54 assists in the match, her second-most this year and the fourth time she tallied at least 50 assists. She also added four digs and two kills.
Rice junior libero Nia McCardell currently leads Conference USA in digs per set, averaging 5.24, which is 15th in the country. Fifth-year middle blocker Anota Adekunle is second in C-USA with a 39.7% hitting percentage, good for 25th in the nation.
As a team the Owls currently rank seventh in the NCAA in digs per set (17.12) and are 23rd in opponents hitting percentage (.165). The Owls have held 14 of 17 opponents below a hitting percentage of .200 or worse this season.
Dating back to 2014 the Owls are 97-20 (.830) in Conference USA play, which includes a 52-3 (.945) record the last three seasons. Rice has won 31 consecutive C-USA regular season contests dating back to the 2019 season.
