Five-Year Old Noura Is Officially A Rice Owl!

Meet The Newest Teammate For Rice Swimming

The Rice Owls swim program is excited to announce that Noura, a five-year old patient in the nearby Houston Medical Center, has officially signed with the team and is the newest Rice Owl!

Noura signed on Friday, April 23, making her an official Rice Owl. Veteran swimmers on the squad welcomed their newest teammate and her family members to the Rice campus. The time away from the hospital and treatments was cause for an impromptu dance party!

"Noura is a young oncology patient who we have had a chance to meet and get to know (through a community outreach program)," said Rice senior swimmer Nicole Limberg. "If we could brighten her and her family's day a little bit that is great because I know she has brightened ours.

"We knew Noura had this amazing, courageous and positive attitude," Limberg added, "but it turns out she is just as fearless at dancing, so she's a great fit for this team!"
