HOUSTON - The Rice Owls volleyball team will close out the 2021 spring regular season this Tuesday when they face the undefeated and No. 2 ranked Texas Longhorns at 4 p.m. from the Frank C. Erwin Jr., Special Events Center. The C-USA West Division champion Owls will be facing the Longhorns for the first time since they defeated the then No. 3 ranked Longhorns on Sept. 18, 2019 in five thrilling sets at Tudor Fieldhouse.
Rice is coming off a narrow five-set loss to No. 6 Baylor last Friday, which snapped the Owls 12-match winning streak, while the Longhorns will be playing for the first time in a week since a 3-0 sweep at Texas State on Mar. 16.

- The Owls completed the first undefeated season (12-0) within conference play in program history.
- The Owls clinched a No. 1 seed at the C-USA Championship tournament, which will be held April 1-3 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Southern Miss will be hosting the eight-team, single-elimination tournament in which the top four teams from each division qualifies.
- Rice ranks Top-35 in the NCAA in both kills per set (34th-13.82) and hitting percentage (34th-.257).
- Defensively the Owls have limited their opponents to a hitting percentage .200 or lower in 10 matches this season, including nine of their last 12.
- The Owls won 36 of 41 sets during league play.
- Senior outside hitter Nicole Lennon leads all C-USA players in points per set (5.05-21st in NCAA) and is second in kills per set (4.26-37th in NCAA).
- Junior setter Carly Graham Graham is second among all C-USA players and ranks 29th in the NCAA in totals assists (646).
- Anota Adekunle ranks third in the NCAA among active players in career hitting percentage (.402).
- Nicole Lennon currently ranks second in the NCAA among active players in career kills (1,675), sixth in kills per set (4.11), and second in total attacks (4,431).
- Coming off a season in which they won 27 matches, the Owls were picked to win the Conference USA West Division in this year's Coaches' Poll.
- Lennon and junior middle blocker Anota Adekunle were named to this year's 12-person C-USA Preseason All-Conference Team.
