HOUSTON - The Rice Owls volleyball team closes out the 2021 spring C-USA portion of their schedule this weekend with a pair of matches against the UTEP Miners in El Paso. Rice has won 10 consecutive matches since starting the season 1-3 and will look to clinch the West division title this weekend.

NOTES

Rice ranks Top-25 in the NCAA in both kills per set (21st-14.28) and hitting percentage (.269).
Defensively the Owls have limited their opponents to a hitting percentage .200 or lower in nine matches this season, including eight of their last nine.
The Owls have won 30 of 34 sets during league play.
Senior outside hitter Nicole Lennon leads all C-USA players in points per set (5.23-14th in NCAA) and is second in kills per set (4.46-29th in NCAA).
Junior setter Carly Graham Graham leads all C-USA players and ranks 19th in the NCAA in totals assists (541).
The Rice Owls volleyball team had two members of their squad recognized by Conference USA on Tuesday after running their winning streak to 10 consecutive matches as Nicole Lennon and Carly Graham were named the Offensive Player of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively.
Anota Adekunle ranks fourth in the NCAA among active players in career hitting percentage (.401).
Nicole Lennon currently ranks second in the NCAA among active players in career kills (1,588), sixth in kills per set (4.09), and second in total attacks (4,183).
Through 10 matches, Lennon currently ranks 22nd in the NCAA in points per set (5.06) and is 34th in kills per set (4.32).
Coming off a season in which they won 27 matches, the Owls were picked to win the Conference USA West Division in this year's Coaches' Poll.
Lennon and junior middle blocker Anota Adekunle were named to this year's 12-person C-USA Preseason All-Conference Team.
Rice returns four starters and eight letterwinners from last year's team and will be incorporating six newcomers.
The top four teams in each division will qualify for the C-USA Volleyball Championship. Southern Miss will host the eight-team, single-elimination tournament April 1-3 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
