
Adekunle Selected C-USA Defensive Player of the Week

Junior middle blocker totaled 12 blocks
DALLAS – Rice junior middle blocker Anota Adekunle was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week after helping guide the Owls to a pair of wins earlier this week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Adekunle totaled 12.0 blocks over nine sets, including a five block performance against the UAB Blazers on Monday. She was part of a Rice defensive effort that limited UAB to a .050 hitting percentage.
Additionally, Adekunle totaled 23 kills in the three matches while hitting a sensational .528 in the middle and totaling 33.5 points. She posted a pair of .600+ matches and collected four service aces.
The Owls (7-3, 6-0) have won six consecutive matches and 18 straight sets overall. They'll be back in action Feb. 28-Mar. 1 at UTSA.
