Golf Opens 2021 Campaign at Rice Intercollegiate

HOUSTON — After having its fall schedule canceled, Rice golf opens its 2021 campaign this Monday, January 25, when it hosts the Rice Intercollegiate. The tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,184-yard Westwood Golf Club.

Joining Rice in the field are Baylor, Houston, Houston Baptist, Lamar and Sam Houston State.

Austin Escamilla – Individual … participated in two tournaments … had a stroke average of 76.67 … tied for 51st-place at the Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational (10/7-8) ... tied for 62nd-place at the All-American Intercollegiate (2/16-18), where he fired a season-best 72 in the second round.

Forrest Park – Individual … Saw only action of the year at the All-American Intercollegiate (2/16-18), where he tied for 78th-place.

PAIRINGS

The Owls will tee off from holes No. 1 through No. 7 with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start. Rice will compete in groups with student-athletes from Baylor and Houston.

UP NEXT

Following the Rice Intercollegiate, the Owls will co-host the All-American Intercollegiate on Feb. 14-16 at the Golf Club of Houston.
