Initial Statement Release (3/12/2020 1:01 p.m.)
Conference USA announced on Thursday that effective immediately all scheduled intercollegiate athletic competitions for the remainder of the 2020 spring calendar have been suspended indefinitely.
"Given the scope of the crisis, the conference had no choice at this time but to take this action," Rice Director of Athletics Joe Karlgaard said. "While this is truly a difficult decision that impacts each of our student-athletes, our first priority is to their health and safety. This issue is far greater than sports and our immediate focus will be on supporting them during this period of competitive inactivity."
The Rice Ticket Office will automatically refund all single-game ticket purchases for events scheduled through the end of March, with a decision on later games made as warranted. Refunds will be processed back to the form of payment used for the original purchase. A confirmation email will be sent out after the refund has been processed. Rice Baseball season ticket members will receive an email with additional information on their ticket options in the near future. If you have any questions please contact tickets@rice.edu.
