Lettenberger Closes Out Action At World Para Swimming Championships

Rice Freshman Wins Silver Medal, Reaches Event Finals Four Times
On Sept. 10 (Tues.) Lettenberger won the Silver Medal in the 400-meter Freestyle (S7) with a time of 5:15.90. The Rice rookie from the Chicago area swam in a total of five events and reached the championship final (the medal round) a total of four times. In addition to finishing second in the 400-m freestyle, she was also fourth in the 200-individual medley, fifth in the 100-freestyle, eighth in the 100-backstroke and tenth in the 100-breaststroke (to close out the international meet on Sunday).
The Rice Owls swim team is next in action at its annual home Invitational on October 11-12. Joining Rice in this year's five-team Invitational field are Georgia Tech, Incarnate Word, the University of Houston and the U.S. Air Force Academy.
