Shop Rice Owls Going Mobile

New pop up model and enhanced online offering
Shop Rice Owls, the official retail outlet of Rice Athletics, is going mobile as part of a revamped strategy that will feature a new and expanded online shopping experience as well as a pop up retail outlet at Rice Village during special events.
"The Shop Rice Owls storefront was a great opportunity to test a new Rice retail concept," said Tanner Gardner, Rice Athletics Senior Associate AD / Chief Operating Officer. "We learned our customers occasionally enjoy an off-campus location. To more efficiently serve these needs, we will move away from a fixed location to a targeted pop up storefront throughout Rice Village. We also learned our customers want a streamlined online shopping experience so we are redirecting investment to enhance ShopRiceOwls.com."
The retail pop up is scheduled to make its debut in Rice Village on Saturday, June 29 and return on July 27 for a pair of summertime appearances. Shop Rice Owls returns to Rice Village on August 17 in advance of the start of O Week and then on August 31 for start of the college football season. Summer pop up locations will occur at 5510 Morningside Ave, near the storefronts of Hopdoddy Burger Bar and D'Amico's Italian Market. Additional dates during the football season will be announced later as will dates and locations in advance of Christmas. Check ShopRiceOwls.com throughout the year for full details.
The enhanced and expanded online version of Shop Rice Owls, ShopRiceOwls.com, will launch later this summer.
The current location at 2567 Amherst Street in Rice Village will be open through May 26 for fans to enjoy one last visit before the store moves to the mobile pop up locations.
The Rice Campus Store, located in Rice's Ley Student Center, will continue to be the #1 destination for Rice apparel. Current hours and contact info for the Rice Campus Store can be found here. The game day shops at Rice Stadium, Tudor Fieldhouse and Reckling Park will continue to operate on game days.
