HOUSTON - The No. 21 Rice volleyball team will carry a four match winning streak into Friday's 6 p.m. home tilt with UTSA in the lone match of this weekend for the Owls. Rice leads UTSA 19-7 in the all-time series and has won the last three meetings against the Roadrunners at Tudor Fieldhouse. At home, the Owls have won 18 of 22 sets played and will be in search of their 17th consecutive victory at Tudor Fieldhouse dating back to last season.

The Roadrunners also started C-USA play 2-0 with wins over Charlotte (3-0) and UTEP (3-1) last weekend in San Antonio. As a team the Roadrunners lead all of C-USA in total team kills (755) as well as team assists (706) and rank 15th in the nation in team service aces (105). Senior DS Emily Ramirez ranks second in C-USA in total digs (239), service aces (28), and aces per set (0.50).

- Rice is currently tied with Texas for the fourth-longest active home win streak in the nation, having won 16 consecutive matches dating back to last season. Only Cal Poly (25), Florida Atlantic (21), and SFA (17) have won more consecutive home matches.
- On Monday, the Owls moved up one spot in the AVCA Top-25, coming in at No. 21.
- The Owls currently rank Top-20 in the NCAA in winning percentage (5th-.929), kills per set (9th-14.45), digs per set (17.76), and assists per set (15th-13.20).
- Earlier this week, both Lee Ann Cunningham and Grace Morgan were named two of 30 national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award. Rice joined Stanford as the only schools with multiple candidates.
- Junior outside hitter Nicole Lennon broke a C-USA record by winning a fifth consecutive Offensive Player of the Week award this past Monday and also tied a C-USA record by winning a fifth consecutive weekly honor, regardless of category. The Katy, Texas native currently ranks fourth in the NCAA in kills per set (5.23), seventh in points per set (5.54), 10th in total kills (251), and 12th in attack per set (12.35). Lennon has secured a double-double in each of her past six matches.
- Senior libero Lee Ann Cunningham ranks third in C-USA with 4.78 digs per set and fourth in total digs (234). Cunningham currently ranks eighth among active NCAA Division I players in career digs with 1,899. She's just two digs away from surpassing Tracey Lam (1,900) for the most digs in Rice history during the 25-point scoring rally era.
- Sophomore middle blocker Anota Adekunle ranks fourth in C-USA in hitting percentage (.392) while senior middle blocker Grace Morgan is sixth (.341).
- Reigning C-USA Coach of the Year Genny Volpe is in her 16th season with the Owls and is the school's all-time leader in totals wins (299) and winning percentage (.625). She notched her eighth, 20-plus win season for the Owls in 2018.
