HOUSTON - The No. 19 ranked Rice Owls volleyball team hits the road for a pair of C-USA matches this weekend, starting Friday at Marshall (5 p.m.) followed by a Sunday afternoon tilt at Louisiana Tech (1 p.m.). Rice enters the weekend winners of seven straight matches and will be beginning a stretch where they play six of their final nine matches of the regular season on the road.

HOUSTON - The No. 19 ranked Rice Owls volleyball team hits the road for a pair of C-USA matches this weekend, starting Friday at Marshall (5 p.m.) followed by a Sunday afternoon tilt at Louisiana Tech (1 p.m.). Rice enters the weekend winners of seven straight matches and will be beginning a stretch where they play six of their final nine matches of the regular season on the road.
NOTES
- The Owls have won 19 consecutive sets dating back to their 3-2 victory over then No. 3 Texas on Sept. 18.
- Rice currently boasts the second-longest active home win streak in the country, having won 19 consecutive home matches dating back to last season.
- On Monday the Owls were ranked No. 19 in the latest AVCA Top-25 Poll, the highest ranking in program history. The Owls have been ranked now for four consecutive weeks.
- Rice is one of just eight teams remaining in the NCAA that have one or no losses. The Owls' winning percentage of .941 is tied for sixth-best in the nation.
- The Owls currently rank Top-20 in the NCAA in winning percentage (6th-.941), kills per set (7th-14.60), hitting percentage (10th-.284), assists per set (11th-13.29), digs per set (15th-17.47), and opponent's hitting percentage (16th-.147).
- Sophomore middle blocker Anota Adekunle was named the C-USA Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Adekunle totaled 31 kills over six sets in a pair of sweeps, including a career-high tying 18 kills in a win over Middle Tennessee in which she hit a blistering .739. The Owls have now won a combined five C-USA Offensive Player of the Week awards this season.
- Junior outside hitter Nicole Lennon ranks among the nation's best in several offensive categories; kills per set (7th-4.98), points per set (9th-5.29), and attacks per set (18th-11.91).
- Senior libero Lee Ann Cunningham ranks third in C-USA with 4.69 digs per set and is closing in on 2,000 career digs, currently at 1,937 digs.
- Reigning C-USA Coach of the Year Genny Volpe is in her 16th season with the Owls and is the school's all-time leader in totals wins (302) and winning percentage (.627). She's on the verge of completing her ninth, 20-plus win season for the Owls.
