Owls Next Compete At Dual-A-Pool-Ooza This Weekend
Last weekend Bui won two individual events and swam on a winning relay to pace the Owls to the team title of the program's home invitational – a five team meet where Rice was joined by Georgia Tech, Houston, Air Force and Incarnate Word competing in a total of 18 events. Bui won the 100-yard butterfly over a starting field of 45 entries with a time of 56.29. The Houston native won the 100-individual medley over 43 other entries with a time of 57.54. She swam the third (butterfly) leg of the Owls' winning 200-medley relay that posted a 1:45.92. To round out the busy weekend Bui was also third in the 200-butterfly (2:05.02), fifth in the 200-IM (2:08.38) and seventh in the 400-IM (4:29.67). She swam the butterfly leg of the 400-medley relay that placed third among 17 other entries.
This is the third time in her career for Bui to be named the C-USA Swimmer of the Week. The Rice swim team is back in action this weekend at the annual Dual-A-Pool-Ooza. This year's edition of the triple-dual meets against FIU, Denver and Tulane is set for Oct. 18-19 in Miami, Fla.
