
Lennon Named C-USA Co-Freshman of the Year

IRVING, Texas - Rice outside hitter Nicole Lennon was selected the Conference USA Co-Freshman of the Year, sharing the honors with North Texas' Barbara Teakell, the league office announced on Thursday (11/16/17).
A native of Katy, Texas, Lennon was named to the C-USA All-Freshman team on Wednesday following a season in which she was named the C-USA Freshman of the Week a league record-tying four times.
Lennon leads all of C-USA in total points (448.0) and is the nation's leader among freshmen in total attacks (1,220). In addition, Lennon ranks second in C-USA in total kills (399) and is the team leader with 14 double-doubles.
Lennon is the first Owl in school history to earn C-USA Freshman of the Year honors.
The Owls face Southern Miss on Friday (2 p.m.) in the quarterfinals of the C-USA Championship in Bowling Green, Ky., hosted by WKU.
