Mario Carmona Named C-USA Golfer of the Week

HOUSTON, Texas — Junior golfer Mario Carmona was named Conference USA Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.
It is his second career Golfer of the Week honor. He also won on Mar. 23, 2016.
Carmona recorded his third career top-five finish with a fourth-place tie at the Ram Masters Invitational. He finished two-under par, his best career finish versus par. The Houston, Texas native opened the tournament with a 71. He followed that up with a two-under 68. On the final day, Carmona closed the tournament with a one-under 69.
The junior recorded seven birdies for the tournament and a tournament-best three eagles. He now has two rounds of par or better this year and 16 in his career and five career rounds in the 60's. The Houston, Texas native also set a career-low with a 54-hole score of 208.
