Former Owl Brad Lardon Qualifies for PGA Championship

Verona, N.Y. — Former Rice golfer Brad Lardon tied for 13th-place at the 49th PGA Professional Championship at Turning Stone Resort to qualify for the 98th PGA Championship, played July 28-31 at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.
Lardon, who lettered at Rice from 1983-87, shot 68-73-73-72/286 to finish two-under to the tournament. The top 20 finishers earned a spot in the PGA Championship.
Lardon, who is the Director of Golf at The Club at La Campanas in Sante Fe, N.M., will be making his third appearance in the PGA Championship, having played in 2007 and 2011. He has also played the U.S. Open in 2002 and 2004, making the cut in 2002 at Bethpage State Park.
