Rice Swimmers Conclude Day 2 at U.S. Olympic Trials

OMAHA, Neb. -- Rice's Kiley Beall and Marie-Claire Schillinger both competed at the 2016 United States Olympic Swim Trials on Monday (June 27) in Omaha, Nebraska.
Schillinger swam a 1:11.51 in the 100-meter breaststroke to finish 67th among a starting field of 125 entries. Last spring the true freshman from Orinda, Calif., swept both Conference USA individual titles in the breaststroke events as well as set a new Rice record in the 200-breaststroke with a SCY time of 2:11.84. Schillinger returns to Olympic Trials action on Thursday in the 200-m breaststroke.
Beall tied for 76th among a total of 157 entries in the 100-meter backstroke. The sophomore from Lexington Park, Md., logged a long-course time of 1:03.37 Monday at the Trials. Her 2015 SCY mark of 54.71 is among the fastest in school history.
