Golf Closes Mason Rudolph Championship in 13th-Place

Franklin, Tenn. -- Rice shot a 20-over par 304 to finish 50-over par in 13th-place at Mason Rudolph Championship, played at the par-71, 7,100-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club.
The Owls finished three strokes behind Middle Tennessee and West Virginia.
"Today was very disappointing, but we'll put this one behind us and work hard this week to prepare for Texas State," said head coach Justin Emil.
Freshman Will Voetsch shot an even-par 71 to finish seven-over par in a 20th-place tie. His 54-hole score of 220 tied a career-best and he now has eight rounds of par or better on the year. It is also his fourth top-20 finish of the season.
Sophomore Mario Carmona tied for 42nd-place at 11-over par after posting a final round 78. Junior Kevin Reilly carded a 77 to finish in 59th-place at 17-over par.
Sophomore Mitchell Meissner tied for 62nd-place at 19-over par after closing the tournament with an 81 and senior James Lee tied for 66th-place at 20-over par after a second consecutive 78.
Vanderbilt won the team championship at five-under par, one stroke ahead of second-place Florida. Florida's Sam Horsfield won medalist honors at seven-under par, two strokes in front of teammate Gordon Neale.
Rice returns to the links next week, April 11-12 when it travels to Austin for the Jim West Intercollegiate.
