Meissner Finishes Strong at C-USA Championship

Texarkana, Ark. — Mitchell Meissner fired an even par 72 to finish tied for 13th-place at the Conference USA Championship, played at the par-72, 6,969-yard Texarkana Country Club.
Meissner finished five-over par. He now has six rounds of par or better this year and 12 for his career while recording his third top-20 finish this year.
The Owls closed the tournament with a 12-over par 300 to finish in 11th-place at 48-over par.
Freshman Will Voetsch tied for 36th-place at 11-over par after closing with a 76. Sophomore Mario Carmona posted a 75 to finish 16-over par in a 48th-place tie.
Senior James Lee tied for 54th-place at 19-over par after carding an 80 while junior Kevin Reilly finished 20-over par and in 59th-place after shooting a 77.
UAB's Taylor Eyster won medalist honors at seven-under par after defeating Louisiana Tech's Victor Lange in a one-hole playoff. UAB, the team leader after stroke play, will play fourth-seeded UTSA in the semifinals of match play this afternoon while second-seed Louisiana Tech will face third-seed North Texas. The winners of each match will meet tomorrow morning for the conference championship.
