Malik and Rutledge See ITA Run End on Saturday

Jamie Malik picked up a pair of wins, but his bid to move on in the ITA Texas Regional ended on Saturday with losses in both singles and doubles.
Malik and Eric Rutledge opened the day in doubles with a win over the sixth seeds Ronit Bisht and Connor Curry, 8-3 to reach the quarter finals, but their run ended when third seeds Max Lunkin and Arthur Rinderknech downed them 8-3.
Malik won his round of 32 singles match, dispatching of Michael Feucht of Lamar, 7-6; 0-6; 6-4, but lost to seventh see Alexander Sendegeya of Texas Tech 7-6; 6-1.
Malik's doubles teammate Rutledge saw his singles run end in the round of 32 when he fell to fourth seed Yuya Ito of Texas 6-1; 6-2.
