Back-To-Back C-USA Champs Open Swim Season Friday

HOUSTON - The defending back-to-back Conference USA champion Rice swim team opens its 2014-2015 season with a home dual meet against Incarnate Word on Friday (Oct. 10) at 5 pm at the Owls' Competition Pool.
Rice returns a total of 16 letterwinners from last season's team that won the program's second-straight C-USA Championship, and the Owls' third conference crown in the last four years. In addition to returning conference individual champions Casey Clark, Erin Flanigan and Cora McKenzie, Rice also has school record-holders Taylor Armstrong and Rachel Moody headlining its 2014-2015 season. The Blue & Gray added eight newcomers to the roster and began training at the start of the school year. The swim team is under the direction of head coach Seth Huston, the four-time C-USA Coach of the Year who is now in his 13th season at the helm of the program.
Friday's meet features nine individual events and two relay races. Start time is scheduled for 5 pm.
