Wibawa was three-over at the turn Monday but birdied both No. 11 and No. 17 to get back to one-over par for the tournament being played at Squire Creek Country Club. Wibawa began the day tied for ninth but was one of six golfers he was tied with after Round One to shoot a 73 on Monday.
Rice shot a 300 team score on Monday and through two rounds of play the Owls are +34 (610).
The Louisiana Tech-hosted tournament concludes with a final round Tuesday morning. Rice will be paired with UTSA and Missouri State.
LSU shot four-under as a team Monday to get back to even par for the tournament and has a six stroke lead of the host Bulldogs.
LSU's Smylie Kaufman, who is playing as an individual, shot a 65 on Sunday but a 76 on Monday left him with just a one-stroke lead over Louisiana Tech's Cody Blankenship. Kaufman's first-round lead was three strokes and after 36 holes he has a 141 score (-3). Blankenship shot a 71 for a second straight round.
Behind Wibawa, Rice's best second round was turned in by freshman Tommy Economou who shot a 73 on Monday. Economou began his round with back-to-back birdies and a birdie at No. 17 had him at even par before bogeying his final hole. Still, Economou moved into a tie for 33rd with a two-round score of 151 (+7).
